La relación de las mujeres con la Universidad de Salamanca hunde sus raíces en los albores del siglo XV, con la entrada del Renacimiento y el Humanismo en nuestro país. Su influencia resultó extraordinariamente fructífera para la intelectualidad femenina y supuso el primer contacto de las mujeres con la universidad. Fueron las puellae doctae que destacaron en el reinado de Isabel la Católica y que abrieron el camino a otras mujeres que en siglos posteriores accederían a los estudios universitarios. El impulso dado a la educación en las últimas décadas del siglo XIX, y, muy especialmente, a raíz de la legislación desarrollada en los primeros decenios del siglo XX, supondrá un auténtico revulsivo para las mujeres que quisieron acceder a la universidad. La comunicación que presentamos recorre ese largo camino iniciado en el siglo XV hasta el primer tercio del siglo XX.

The relationship of women with the University of Salamanca has its roots in the dawn of the fifteenth century, with the entry of the Renaissance and Humanism in our country. His influence was extraordinarily fruitful for the female intelligentsia and was the first contact of women with the University. They were the puellae doctae that stood out in the reign of Isabel the Catholic and that opened the way to other women who in later centuries would accede to university studies. The boost given to education in the last decades of the nineteenth century, and, especially, following the legislation developed in the first decades of the twentieth century, will be a real revulsion for women who wanted to access the University. The communication that we present goes through that long road started in the 15th century until the first third of the 20th century.
