    La edición integral de Brian the Brain, de Miguel Ángel Martín, proporciona la ocasión de acceder a la narrativa gráfica del autor leonés desde una perspectiva que tiene en cuenta otros tebeos suyos, especialmente Rubber Flesh y, en menor medida, Surfing on the Third Wave. Dicha perspectiva no es otra que el denominado transhumanismo. Sin dejar de considerar que Martín es ante todo un magnífico historietista, inteligente y entretenido, en sus tebeos se revelan planteamientos y situaciones que encajan con algunos de los presupuestos de la ideología transhumanista, lo cual afianza su consideración como autor avanzado, aunque también crítico. El enfoque aquí adoptado permite eludir otras ópticas interpretativas que terminan por simplificar, cuando no reducir, el alcance de la obra de Miguel Ángel Martín.

    The integral edition of Brian the Brain, by Miguel Ángel Martín, provides the opportunity to access the graphic narrative of the author from a perspective that includes other comics of his, especially Rubber Flesh and Surfing on the Third Wave. This perspective is the so-called Transhumanism. While considering that Martin is a magnificent, intelligent and entertaining cartoonist, his comics revealed situations that fit with some of the assumptions of transhumanist ideology, which strengthens his consideration as an advanced author, but also critical. The approach adopted in this essay allows us to avoid other interpretative perspectives that simplify the scope of Miguel Ángel Martín's work.
