  El presente capítulo pretende abordar de forma documental los aspectos centrales teóricos y prácticos que fundamentan la investigación cualitativa y que constituyen las principales diferencias con las investigaciones de enfoque cuantitativo. En consonancia con lo anterior, en el primer subcapítulo abordan los temas sobre las características que guían los enfoques cuantitativos y cualitativos, posteriormente el recorrido histórico de la consolidación de la investigación cualitativa, en la misma línea, pero desde otro campo de análisis, se trata en el tercer subcapítulo las estrategias de la investigación cualitativa y en el cuarto subcapítulo, algunos de los enfoques consolidados.

  This chapter intends to deal in a documentary way with the theoretical and practical central aspects that are the basis of qualitative research and that constitute the main differences with the researches of quantitative approach in accordance with the above, in the first subchapter they address the issues about the characteristics that guide the quantitative and qualitative approaches, then the historical course of the consolidation of qualitative research, in the same line, but from another field of analysis is treated in the third sub chapter the strategies of qualitative research in the fourth sub chapter some of the consolidated approaches.
