Doris Choy, Raphael R Kavanaugh

  • The purpose of the present study was to determine whether the application of structured writing principles to complex diversity training materials would improve students' under-standing of diversity. The study collected data from 166 participants in an undergraduate hospitality management course. The participants were randomly placed into three groups to learn from three different diversity training materials and completed a post-test afterwards. The results demonstrated that there were significant differences between the performances of the three groups. The results of the study suggested that implementing structured writing principles in the presentation of complex diversity training materials facilitates the students to learn the content.
