    Dentro de los hospitales surgen multitud de problemas de tipo moral. Los distintos sistemas de valores, creencias, culturas y etnias multiplican las perspectivas y los argumentos para justificar una determinada decisión a la hora de realizar y/o aceptar un cuidado o tratamiento. Los comités de ética asistencial de los hospitales son una herramienta útil para ayudar a los profesionales a la hora de tomar decisiones.

    Estos Comités deben seguir un proceso de toma de decisiones en conflictos bioéticos. Este proceso se fundamenta en la recopilación exhaustiva de toda la información referente al caso o problema, su estudio, la identificación de los problemas éticos detectados, los principios bioéticos implicados, el planteamiento y argumentación de los posibles cursos de acción. Durante todo este proceso es preciso evitar errores que puedan impedir el diálogo y el afrontamiento de los problemas morales desde una perspectiva neutra. Este trabajo tiene como objetivos: Describir las funciones de los comités de ética asistencial (CEA), mostrar el proceso de toma de decisiones del comité de ética asistencial de un hospital y los elementos que pueden distorsionar la toma de decisiones.

    Inside the hospitals arise multitude of moral problems. The different systems of values, beliefs, cultures and etnics multiply the perspectives to justify a certain decision at the moment to accept a care or treatment. The ethics committees of the hospitals are a useful tool to help the professionals at the moment of taking decisions.

    These Committees must follow a process of making decisions in bioethics problems. This process bases on the exhaustive summary of all the information relating to the case or problem, the identification of ethical problems, the bioethics principles implied, the exposition and argumentation of the possible courses of action.During all this process it is necessary to avoid mistakes that could prevent the dialog and the confrontation of the moral problems from a neutral perspective Aims of article: To describe the functions of the ethics committees(EC), to show the process of making decisions of the hospital ethics committee and the elements that can distort the capture of decisions.
