Resumen de L’Hotel Anabel com a símptoma: (l’evolució del turisme a Lloret de Mar, 1905-1976)

La construcció de l’hotel Anabel es produeix just en el moment en què el fenomen turístic comença a viure’s com a desbordament. És un dels pocs intents per encarar el programa de l’hotel, no només des de l’arquitectura, sinó des de l’urbanisme.Probablement des de cert pragmatisme expeditiu, al marge de tota especulació teòrica, l’edifici integra un carrer des del qual s’estructura i planteja també una mutiplicitat d’usos.Els diferents usos que conformen el programa no són nous; sí ho és, al menys a Lloret de Mar la voluntat de combinar-los tots en una mateixa estructura urbana. El pla d’ordenació urbana vigent és el que es redacta l’any 1955 i s’aprova el 1957. Un pla que, tanmateix, ha passat per diferents revisions des de la seva aprovació. Revisions que testimonien la perplexitat de l’administració local davant d’un fenomen, el turisme, que de forma molt ràpida planteja nous reptes. El text tranca d’encaixar aquest nou edifici en el ràpid procés que converteix LLoret de Mar en una de les viles de la costa més transformada pel turisme; en l’incòmode espai entre el genèric i el concret; entre la descripció d’un projecte concret i l’evolució urbana.

The construction of the Anabel Hotel happened precisely when the touristic phenomenon shifted towards a model based on very large crowds. The Anabel Hotel is one of the few, perhaps the only one in Lloret de Mar, which displays the hotel’s program not only in architectural terms, but also in urban terms. The building, maybe with an expeditious pragmatism without any kind of theoretical thought, includes one street in the middle of the site which structures the building, and hosts various uses that are not new in Lloret (bowling, shops, restaurants, pubs). However, at least in Lloret de Mar in 1971, was not usual to combine these different uses in a unique proposal. When the Anabel Hotelwas built the urban planning wasthe one of 1955. Approved in 1957, in 1971 this plan had been already modified a few times. These revisions and changes reveal the administration’s perplexity in front of a new phenomenon, the tourism, which constantly poses new problems. The lecture unfolds the sense of the building in his context, when Lloret de Mar turned into one of the villages more transformed by the tourismand links the description of the project with the urban evolution of the town
