    “El paisaje no existe, tenemos que inventarlo” (Cueco, 1982). La Costa Gironina, va esdevenir paisatge des del moment que Ferràn Agulló li va donar un nom: la Costa Brava, que pintors i fotògrafs, van ensenyar a mirar. Un paisatge fet de la suma de molts paisatges que Josep Pla en la Guía General y Verídica va dibuixar amb paraules. La publicitat de la Costa Brava, formada per les fotografies i les guies turístiques, van ser els testimonis de la transformació del paisatge que amb la irrupció del turisme va patir aquesta costa, entre els anys 20 i 60. La necessitat urgent d’allotjament va propiciar la construcció d’una nova arquitectura hotelera, a partir dels anys 50, que d’acord amb la Normativa Urbanística de l’època, va establir una relació de diàleg amb el seu entorn, creant un nou paisatge. Amb la suma d’aquests testimonis escrits, imatges i publicacions, podem precisar el ritme de creixement i la transformació d’un paisatge natural, arquitectònic i humà, que de la mà del turisme va definir i redefinir una part del territori català. Un territori que fins a la meitat dels anys seixanta va mantenir l’equilibri entre l’arquitectura i el paisatge, sense imposar-se un sobre l’altre.

    The Girona’s coast, became a landscape when Ferran Agulló give it a name : Costa Brava, that painters and photographers taught to look. A landscape made of many landscapes that Josep Pla in is Guide General and True, drew whith words. Advertising in Costa Brava, consisted of photographs and guidebooks, witnesses to the transformation of the landscape with the arrive of tourism that suffered this coast, between 20’ and 60’. The urgent need for accommodation led the construction of a new hotel’s architecture, from the 50’, according to urban regulations, establishing a relationship of dialogue with its environment, creating a new landscape. With the addition of these written wittnesses, images and publications, we can specify the rate of growth and transformation of natural landscapes, architectural and human, with the tourism that define and redefine a part of the Catalan territory. A territory until middle of the sixties was in balance between architecture and landscape, without imposing one over the other.
