El presente trabajo es una revisión de la aplicación de los criterios de lo transmedia a lo largo de la historia (y prehistoria) del arte. Aborda los conflictos conceptuales del término, la función misma del arte y su relación con el espacio y tiempo, para propiciar un análisis hermenéutico que escape de las lógicas puramente técnicas con las que se ha abordado el tema en los últimos años. La reflexión estará hilvanada por obras representativas de las distintas etapas de la historia del arte en occidente con el propósito de reconfigurar las nociones de lo transmediático.

This work is a review of the application of transmedia criteria throughout the history (and prehistory) of art. It deals with the conceptual conflicts of the term, the very function of art and its relationship with space and time, to provide a hermeneutic analysis that escapes the purely technical logics with which the subject has been approached in recent years. The reflection will be threaded through works that are representative of the different stages of the history of art in the West, with the aim of reconfiguring the notions of the transmedia.
