Ucrania se encuentra en el abismo, vive el conflicto más grave desde su independencia en 1991. Todo empezó a finales de noviembre con las manifestaciones pro europeas cuando el expresidente Viktor Yanukovich se negó a firmar el Acuerdo de Asociación y Libre Comercio con la Unión Europea. Esas protestas se convertirían en la llamada revolución EuroMaidán que después buscaron la caída del dictador. El 22 de febrero, Yanukovich abandona Kiev y los opositores se hacen con el poder. El presidente ruso, Vladimir Putin, en vísperas de la clausura de Sochi, opta por aceptar la política de hechos consumados. Pero, unos días después, pide poderes al parlamento para enviar tropas a Ucrania: Crimea es el pretexto para la intervención.

Ukraine is on the brink, lives the most serious conflict since its independence in 1991. It all began in late November when the pro-European demonstrations began after former President Viktor Yanukovich refused to sign the Association and Free Trade Agreement with the European Union. These protests were to become the so-called EuroMaidan revolution that after would seek the fall of the dictator. On 22 February, Yanukovich left Kiev and the demonstrators took the power. Russian President, Vladimir Putin, on the eve of the closing ceremony of Sochi, accepted the policy of fait accompli. But some days later asked parliament for powers to send troops to Ukraine: Crimea is the excuse for the intervention.
