  • Resumen
    • People who inject substances have increasing rates of serious bacterial infections that require prolonged antibiotic treatment.

Current models of care can create barriers to completion of treatment for people with substance use disorders.

Successful programs reduce barriers, initiate and link patients to ongoing outpatient substance care, and offer patient-centered discharge options for completion of therapy.
