  • Without neglecting essentialist reminiscences and specifying the impact ofExistential Philosophies on Josep Ferrater Mora, in whom they are mixed with othertendencies, we will study his foundation of collectivity on individual existence. We willemphasize the ethical component, which transcends the prudence of his political posi-tioning, and his eagerness to link the Catalan, Spanish and European spheres, respect-ing plurality. The essay Les formes de la vida catalana will be analyzed in particular, consid-ering sources, circumstances, approaches, re-elaborations, censorship, and reception. Thetreatment of the question of identity in previous and subsequent works is also contemplated
