    The discussion that surrounds “Curriculum and culture: the Amazonian context in educational practice” was raised by the necessity of thinking about the context of the Amazonian region culture and education, in order to think of the school curriculumby considering the specific knowledge that wraps lives of pupils and teachers involved in the socio-educational processes. Thus, this essay aims to discuss the school curriculum related to the socio-cultural reality of Amazonian populations. Therefore, this work is based on a bibliographical research method, supported by authors who work on themes that involve cultural know-how that has been a discussion that emerges with great regularity, as it is perceived that for a long time this question has been set aside of the educational process, which aims at serving to the neo-liberal globalization interests. However with the new discussions and educational trends, it is required that –throughout the curriculum design process –the socio-cultural learner’s reality must be taken into account in order to help in the teaching/learning process, what makes possible the inclusion of Amazonian cultural know-how into this syllabus design

    A discussão em torno do “Currículo e cultura: O contexto amazônico na prática educacional”, foi produzida pela necessidade de refletir sobre o contexto da cultura e educação da região amazônica, a fim de pensar o currículo escolar levando em conta os saberes específicos que envolvem a vida de alunos e professores implicados nos processos sócio-educativos. Desse modo, este ensaio tem como objetivo refletir sobre a articulação do currículo escolar conectado com a realidade sociocultural das populações da Amazônia. Nesse sentido, sua escrita está pautada no método de pesquisa bibliográfico, embasados em autores que privilegiam a temática dos saberes cultuais, que tem sido uma discussão que surge com grande regularidade, pois é percebido que por muito tempo essa questão foi sendo deixada de lado no processo educacional, que visa atender aos interesses neo-liberais de globalização. No entanto com as novas discussões e tendências educacionais é requerido que durante o processo de construção do currículo escolar a realidade sócio cultural do educando seja utilizada para ajudar no processo ensino/aprendizagem, o que possibilita a inclusão dos saberes culturais amazônicos nessa organização curricular.
