Resumen de Enfrentamiento entre Armenia y Azerbaiyán

En el mes de julio comenzaron una vez más los enfrentamientos entre Armenia y Azerbaiyán, aunque esta vez no en la región de Nagorno-Karabaj. Más allá de operaciones militares en sí, el hecho significativo ha sido el choque en zonas no disputadas y el intento de Armenia por incluir a la Organización del Tratado de Seguridad Colectiva (OTSC) en el conflicto.
El estancamiento del proceso de paz entre los dos Estados, así como las condiciones complejas desde el punto de vista económico, social y político, que se han visto agravadas por el coronavirus, enmarcan este nuevo capítulo del conflicto.
La respuesta medida de Rusia no ha sido una buena noticia para Armenia y contrasta con el apoyo decidido de Turquía a Azerbaiyán. Es posible que el impacto de estas operaciones militares genere reacomodamientos internos y de política exterior en ambos Estados.
La contraposición entre Rusia y Turquía podría abrir un nuevo capítulo en las ya complejas relaciones entre Moscú y Ankara.

Clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan have started once again in July, although this time not in Nagorno-Karabakh. Beyond military operations per se, the significant event has been the clashes in uncontested areas and Armenia's attempt to include the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the conflict.
The stagnation of the peace process between the two states, as well as the complex conditions from the economic, social, and political point of view, which have been aggravated by the Coronavirus, frame this new chapter of the conflict.
Russia's limited response was not good news for Armenia, and it contrasts with Turkey's decisive support for Azerbaijan. It is possible that the impact of these military operations will go further and generate internal rearrangements and changes in the foreign policies of the two Caucasian states.
The contrast between Russia and Turkey could open a new chapter in the already complex relations between Moscow and Ankara.
