Sobre el tipo nomenclatural de Sideritis tragoriganum Lag. (Labiatae)

    El lectotipo de Sideritis tragoriganum Lag. (Lamiaceae) fue designado por Figuerola, Stübing & Peris en 1991 a partir de una ilustración publicada por Lobelius in 1591 y citada en el protólogo por Lagasca. Sin embargo, Rivera y colaboradores en 1991 proponen su reemplazo por un espécimen del material original conservado en el herbario del Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid en MA al considerar que la ilustración de Lobelius contradice el protólogo y no permite una precisa identificación con el uso y el concepto actual del nombre. Sin embargo, este reemplazo es inefectivo y tendría que ser rechazado de acuerdo con el Código de Shenzhen. La ilustración de Lobelius (1591) debe ser tratada como el lectotipo de S. tragoriganum. Por otro lado, para evitar cualquier ambigüedad en la interpretación del lectotipo, un epitipo es seleccionado a partir de un espécimen conservado en el herbario del Jardín Botánico de la Universidad de Valencia (VAL), y recolectado en la localidad de “Tibi” (Alicante, España) citada por Lagasca en el protólogo.

    The lectotype of Sideritis tragoriganum Lag. (Labiatae) was designated by Figuerola & al. in 1991 from an illustration published by Lobelius in 1591 and cited in the protologue of Lagasca. However, Rivera et al. in 1991 proposed its replacement by an original specimen preserved in the herbarium of the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid at MA since the Lobelius’ illustration does not allow a precise identification with the current use and concept of the name. However, according to the Shenzhen Code, this replacement is ineffective and should be rejected. The illustration from Lobelius (1591) must be treated as the lectotype of S. tragoriganum. On the other hand, in order to avoid any ambiguity in the interpretation of the lectotype, an epitype is selected from a specimen preserved in the herbarium of the Botanic Garden of the Valencian University at VAL, and collected in the locality cited by Lagasca in the protologue “Tibi” (Alicante province, Spain).
