Its establish the relationship between the symptoms of psychological distress and Resilience in 65 women deprived of liberty in the Judicial Prison of the municipality of Valledupar.
It’s a Non-experimental study, of quantitative type and correlational scope, to carry out this research, the Questionnaire of 90 symptoms SCL-90-R (Derogatis, 1983) and Y The Wagnild & Young Resilience Test in (1987) was applied which measures the internal dimensions of resilience in the subjects of study that are self-acceptance and personal competences. Regarding the condition of confinement, 55% are indicted and 40% are already convicted. The majority of female inmates, 63%, have already been to a detention site before. The majority have a very high level of psychic suffering, with 58% of participants in the decile 10 and 17% in decile 9. In Conclusion it cannot be said that there is a correlation with resilience with 95% confidence, however, given the small sample size and the tendency to show high levels of symptoms of psychological distress, a confidence level of 90 is chosen % and a p <, 1 value for the rejection of the null hypothesis, which demonstrates the relationship of resilience with phobic anxiety and paranoia. In both cases there is a weak negative correlation, so it is suggested that, the greater the resilience, the less phobic anxiety and the less paranoid symptoms.
