    Entre los años 1989 y 1990 se desarrolló el último episodio de la minería aurífera de Rodalquilar (Almería), siendo también el último episodio de la minería metálica de la Sierra del Cabo de Gata y casi prácticamente de toda la pro-vincia. El panorama minero de aquel año 1990 era muy diferente al de un siglo y medio atrás, cuando la producción de los cotos mineros almerienses inundaba el mercado internacional de metales, principalmente el del plomo. Tres décadas después de aquel último episodio minero aurífero de Rodalquilar, el cual pasó prácticamente desapercibido a la sociedad almeriense, se intenta aportar luz de las claves que lo rodearon, tanto de las que llevaron a su inicio en 1989, como de las que llevaron a su finalización en 1990.

    Between the years 1989 and 1990, the last episode of the gold mining of Rodalquilar (Almería) was developed, being also the last episode of metallic mining of the Sierra del Cabo de Gata and almost practically of the whole province.The mining panorama of that year 1990 was very different from that of a century and a half ago, when the production of Almeria’s mineral reserves flooded the international market of metals, mainly lead. Three decades after that last gold mining episode of Rodalquilar, which went virtually unnoticed to the Almeria society, it is tried to provide light of the keys that surrounded it, both those that led to its beginning in 1989, and those that led to its completion in1990.
