  • Resumen
    • This case study focuses on the clinical experiences of learner physiotherapists from one school of physiotherapy. Data were collected using qualitative approaches: diaries, interviews and questionnaires. The views of learners highlighted their perceptions of poor and good practice for such a professional experience. The motivation and enthusiasm of the learners are shown to be dampened or enhanced. The crucial need for feedback, the focus on education and not socialization for learner physiotherapists during clinical experience are similar to the needs and foci found by other professions in the medical field. The learner physiotherapists with good experiences seemed to become ‘patient focused’ rather than ‘technique focused’. The roles of the senior practising physiotherapist (clinical educator) and the visiting teacher (clinical visitor) are considered as a basis for the development of the educational aspect.
