Inició sus pasos profesionales trabajando con mujeres maltratadas en el barrio vallecano de Entrevías. Años más tarde, se ha convertido en una de las personas más influyentes en el ámbito emprendedor. Actualmente es vicepresidenta de Ashoka, una organización sin ánimo de lucro, que se fundó en 1981 en Estados Unidos y que cuenta con más de 3.600 emprendedores sociales en cerca de noventa países. Bajo la idea: «Todos podemos ser agentes del cambio», la organización ha lanzado una iniciativa que busca cambiar el modelo de educación
