Resumen de Adaptaciones cinematográficas contemporáneas del 'Michael Kohlhaas' y la internacionalización de la obra de Heinrich von Kleist

  Como resultado de la problemática recepción internacional de Heinrich von Kleist durante buena parte del siglo XX, la primera adaptación al cine de Michael Kohlhaas producida fuera de Alemania no llegaría hasta 1999, con el western Sin Piedad (The Jack Bull). No obstante, en los últimos años esta larga sequía se ha visto interrumpida con el estreno casi simultáneo de dos versiones del relato: la franco-alemana Michael Kohlhaas (2003) y la rusa Leviatán (2014). El objetivo de este artículo es el de abordar la relación entre estas películas y el proceso de revalorización de la obra kleistiana a nivel mundial. Para ilustrar dicho fenómeno, se propondrá además un diálogo entre el texto original y estas dos adaptaciones con el fin de examinar las implicaciones narrativas y estéticas de trasladar la historia a un medio y un contexto histórico y geográfico tan distintos

  As a result of Heinrich von Kleist’s convoluted international reception during the 20th century, the first non-German movie adaptation of Michael Kohlhaas (the western The Jack Bull) would not appear until 1999. However, this situation has changed in the last few years after two ver-sions of the story were released almost simultaneously: the Franco-German production Michael Kohl-haas (2013) and the Russian Leviathan (2014). Thus, this paper aims to illustrate the relationship between these movies and the international revalorization of Kleist’s work. This article will also establish a dialogue between the original text and these two adaptations to explore this phenomenon, as well as to examine the narrative and aesthetic implications of translating the story to both a differ-ent medium and historiographical context
