    Con la presente contribución se pretende lanzar una hipótesis sobre el lugar social que ocuparía la prostituta romana nacida libre y que no responde al rol que la mujer libre debería ocupar según la moral establecida. Para ello hay que analizar la posición de la matrona como modelo de comportamiento y la estructura de las relaciones en la sociedad romana

    With this contribution, I will attempt to formulate an hypothesis on the social status of the freeborn Roman prostitute who actually does not correspond to the role that a freeborn woman should perform according to her contemporary moral standards. For this purpose it is mandatory to analyse the status of matronae, as the standard of model behaviour, as well as the structure of the social relations in Roman society.
