Resumen de La doble construcción discursiva de Virginia Woolf: una aproximación comparatista a "The Hours"

El objetivo de este trabajo es llevar a cabo una aproximación a The Hoursde Michael Cunningham y la reelaboración cinematográfica que propuso Stephen Daldry para demostrar que ambas obras encierran un homenaje a la figura literaria de Virginia Woolf con diferente grado de éxito. En primer lugar, intentaremos evidenciar que TheHours, en sus dos modalidades discursivas, están configuradas como una construcción biográfica sui generisde la autora de Mrs. Dalloway. En segundo lugar, esta indagación quiere avanzar sobre ambos relatos, también, en aquello que los separa y poner de manifiesto la superioridad del filme en su homenaje a los modos de narrar Virginia Woolf.

The aim of this paper is to approach The Hours, written by Michael Cunningham and filmed by Stephen Daldry, to demonstrate that both discourses contain a tribute to the literary figure of Virginia Woolf with different degrees of success. Firstly, the purpose is to provethat both storiesare shapedas a sui generis biographical construction of Mrs. Dalloway’s author.Secondly, this study will go depper into the differences between both narrative works and will show that the film is better than the novel in its attempt to pay homage to the narrative style of Virginia Woolf
