Una estimación de cronología absoluta para una pintura rupestre del abrigo de Legteitira-6 (Agüenit, Sahara Occidental)

    La datación AMS-14C de las capas de oxalato cálcico que recubren la superficie del único y curioso motivo pictórico de la estación artística de Legteitira-6 (Agüenit, Sahara Occidental), al SE del Tiris, aporta un valor medio que situaría la ejecución de la pintura con anterioridad al V milenio cal. B.P. De cara a una relativa precisión del tramo temporal en que pudo efectuarse la singular imagen de un "cuadrúpedo indeterminado", otro análisis radiométrico de una muestra de substrato rocos del abrigo, próxima a la figura, tendería a emplazarlo en torno al VI milenio o la segunda mitad del VII. Distintas dataciones absolutas de evidencias arqueológicas y de depósitos hidrográficos de la zona contribuirían, por su parte, a contextualizar entre esos márgenes temporales el hecho pictórico y, de alguna manera, reforzarían el valor relativo de la estimación cronológica sugerida.

    Die AMS-C14-Datierung der Calciumoxalat-Schicht, welche die Oberfläche eines merkwürdigen und zugleich einzigartigen künstlerischen Motivs der Felsbildstation Legteitira-6 (Agwanit, Western Sahara) südöstlich von Tiris bildet, ergibt einen durchschnittlichen Wert, der die Entstehung des Bildes vor dem 5. Jahrtausend (calBP) ansiedelt. Im Blickpunkt der relativen Präzision des Zeitrahmens, in dem dieses außergewöhnliche Bild eines "undefinierbaren Vierbeiners" entstanden sein mag, tendiert eine andere radiometrische Analyse auf der Basis einer Gesteinsprobe des felsigen Substrats nahe des Abris dazu, es im Bereich 6. Jt. oder zweite Hälfte 7. Jt. anzusiedeln. Verschiedene absolute Datierungen mit archäologischer Beweiskraft sowie hydrografische Lagerstätten in der Zone erzeugen dementsprechend einen Kontext der bildlichen Darstellung innerhalb dieses Zeitrahmens, der – zu einem gewissen Grad – den vorgeschlagenen relativen Wert der zeitlichen Schätzung wahrscheinlicher macht.

    The AMS-14C dating of the calcium oxalate layer which coats the surface of the curiously unique pictorial motif of the artistic station of Legteitira-6 (Agwanit, Western Sahara), southeast of Tiris, provides an average value which would situate the execution of the painting prior to the 5th millennium cal. B.P. In view of the relative precision of the time frame in which the unique image of an "unspecified quadruped" could have been executed, another radiometric analysis of a rock substratum sample from the shelter in the vicinity of the figure would tend to situate it in around the 6th millennium or the second half of the 7th millennium. Different absolute dating tests of archaeological evidence and hydrographic deposits from the zone would accordingly contribute to create a context for the pictorial event among these time frames and – to a certain degree – would reinforce the relative value of the suggested chronological estimate.
