    En Chile los pueblos originarios viven un proceso de revitalización cultural y reivindicación territorial que hinca sus raíces en el descubrimiento patrimonial. Este caso de estudio se localiza en el sur de Chile, en la vertiente occidental de la zona precordillerana andina. Su orientación determina la existencia de un bosque templado húmedo de gran diversidad biológica y estética que deriva en un paisaje complejo donde se funden aspectos naturales y culturales. La metodología identifica el recurso turístico a través de un estudio paisajístico y un mapeo colectivo de sus vectores patrimoniales, elaborado en colaboración con las comunidades mediante talleres y reuniones. Como resultado se elaboran mapas de paisaje y de vectores patrimoniales, que reflejan la relación de convivencia que las comunidades mapuche desarrollan con el entorno y al mismo tiempo, constituyen elementos sobre los cuales estas asientan sus actividades turísticas de base comunitaria como huertos tradicionales, comercio de productos artesanales o rutas guiadas.

    In Chile, the native populations are involved in a process of cultural revitalization and territorial claim that is rooted in the discovery of their heritage. This case of study is located in the south of Chile, on the western slope of the Andean foothills. Its orientation determines the existence of a rainforest of great biological and aesthetic diversity that leads to a complex landscape where natural and cultural aspects merge.

    The methodology identifies the tourist resource through a landscape study and a collective mapping of its heritage vectors, elaborated in collaboration with the communities through workshops and meetings. As a result, landscape and heritage vector maps are generated, which reflect the relationship of coexistence that mapuche communities develop with the environment and, at the same time, constitute elements on which they establish their community-based tourism activities such as traditional vegetable gardens, craft trade or guided routes.
