En este artículo se aborda, en forma parcial, la problemática del crédito bancario en Córdoba en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. En el período aludido, comienza a gestarse un sistema bancario de alcance nacional.
Sin embargo, hasta la crisis de 1890, los estados provinciales tuvieron facultades para regular la actividad, imponiendo condiciones para el establecimiento y funcionamiento de las entidades financieras. En tal sentido, se estudian los primeros bancos establecidos en Córdoba, las modalidades operatorias y la orientación que dieron al crédito.

Comercial banks in the second half of XIX century. Córdoba 1860-1890 This paper partially examines the problem of bank credit in Cordoba during the second half of XIX century.
In the mentioned period a bank system of national size began to take shape. However, until the 1890 crisis, the provinces had faculties to rule this activity, setting conditions to the establishment and functioning of financial firms. Considering this, we study the first banks established in Córdoba, their operating system and the orientation given to credits.
