The sedimentary succession of the Yasyamayo Fonnation (Upper Pliocene-Pleistocene) located in El Infia•nillo, Department of Taff, Province of Tucumán has been studied. This sequence is divided in two sedimentary facies:
A is composed mainly of massive and matrix supported conglomerates with coarse sandstones. Facies B is made up of coarse sandstones, massive sandstones, laminated sandstones and lenticular sandstones. The paleoenvironmental interpretaüon of the facies described is the braided river in tectonic valley with lateral alluvial fan deposits
