    Quando os africanos foram obrigados a trabalhar compulsoriamente na colônia portuguesa trouxeram consigo diversas manifestações religiosas e culturais. Em contrapartida, aqueles que tiveram a oportunidade de retornar ao continente de origem incorporaram algumas manifestações culturais “brasileiras”. Nesse sentido, vislumbramos as construções arquitetônicas do Benim e da Nigéria que se firmam como grandes obras influenciadas pela arquitetura brasileira. O contato tenso entre europeus, nativos mesoamericanos e africanos proporcionou a este último grupo o aprimoramento das técnicas de construção e, ao retornarem à África, incorporaram características da arquitetura luso-brasileira. Portanto, iremos questionar como a arquitetura luso-tropical foi adaptada à realidade e aos vários interesses africanos. Salientando, também, como o Brasil produziu memórias em torno da África.

    The Africans, when forced to work in the Portuguese Colony, brought with them many religious and cultural manifestations. However, those who had the opportunity to return to African incorporated some Brazilian cultural manifestations. In this sense, we can observe the architectonic constructions of Benin and Nigeria that have shown themselves to be great works influenced by Brazilian architecture. The tense contact between Europeans, Mesoamerican natives and Africans in brazilian territory provided the latter with the improvement of their construction techniques, and when they returned to the African continent, they incorporated to that space architectonic styles from the Portuguese-Brazilian experiences and the vernaculars ones. Therefore, we are going to question how the “Brazilian architecture” or the “Tropical-Portuguese architecture” was incorporated to the reality and to the various African interests. We highlight, as well as how Brazil produced memories around Africa.
