  • Three stratigraphic units have been distinguished in the uppermost Eocene)?) - Oligocene conglomerates that occur close the southern border of the Axial Zone of the Pyrenees. These tertiary formations fossilized downward-verging thrusts of the leading edge of the Axial Zone antiformal stack (Nogueres Zone), but were affected by late synsedimentary shortening expressed as large-scale buckle folding and high-angle thrusts and backthrusts.
