The Pseudomiltha beds at the base of the llerdian sedimentary cycle in the Early Eocene of the Tremp Basin yield cerithiid gastropod shells colonized by ahermatypic stony corals. These fossils document a triple symbiosis between the gastropod having produced the shell, its nongastropod, secondary inhabitant, probably a sipunculid worm, and the coral, in order to survive permanent sedimentation rates exceeding the self-cleaning capacity of anthozoans.
