  • Resumen
    • Teaching interactive distance education classes requires extensive training and planning if the faculty and the class are to be successful. First, the different personnel roles associated with distance education must be analysed and understood by the faculty. Next, the process of delivering instruction at a distance usually requires the faculty to adjust, or in some instances, completely alter their instructional techniques. Even the selection and use of instructional material requires a different instructional strategy. Therefore, training in the design and development of interactive distance education must be provided to the faculty to ensure the success of the programme. The purpose of this article is to provide a discussion of the important considerations in developing a faculty training programme for interactive distance education.
