    Los movimientos natatorios del coleóptero ripario Brachygluta aubei (Tournier, 1868) son descritos e ilustrados. Durante la natación, las patas posteriores permanecen extendidas hacia atrás mientras que las patas anteriores y medias realizan movimientos sincronizados de protracción y retracción. Este tipo de natación, en el que las patas de un mismo segmento se mueven de forma sincrónica, ha sido descrito en otros coleópteros terrestres de ambientes ripícolas o palustres, pero es la primera vez que se observa en Staphylinidae.

    The swimming movements of the riparian Brachygluta aubei (Tournier, 1868) are described and illustrated. During swimming, the hindlegs remain extended backwards while fore and middle legs are moved synchronously during protraction and retraction. This kind of swimming, in which the legs located on the same thoracic segment move in synchronicity, has been described in other terrestrial riparian or palodicolous Coleoptera but it is observed in Staphylinidae for the first time.
