    Este trabalho objetiva analisar a discussão acerca da reivindicação pela participação da mulher na política (votando e sendo eleita) em meados do século XIX no Brasil. Para tal, partimos de uma obra: Tratado Sobre a Emancipação Política da Mulher e Direito de Votar, publicada por uma mulher, Anna Rosa Termacsics dos Santos, na cidade do Rio de Janeiro em 1868. Tal obra, juntamente com a trajetória de sua autora e as reverberações de suas ideias nos meios impressos, se analisadas de forma comparada, nos dão um panorama dos primórdios do movimento sufragista no Brasil ainda no século XIX. Por intermédio de Anna Rosa, podemos notar uma escrita com o intuito de romper com os padrões de gênero que eram impostos ao sexo feminino. Dessa maneira, percebe-se que o voto feminino esteve inserido nas discussões do contexto oitocentista, e que as mulheres já vinham reivindicando direitos.

    This paper aims to analyze the discussion about the claim for the participation of women in politics (voting and being elected) in the middle of the nineteenth century in Brazil.

    To this end, we start with a work on the Political Emancipation of Women and the Right to Vote, published by a woman, Anna Rosa Termacsics dos Santos, in the city of Rio de Janeiro in 1868. This work, along with the trajectory of its author and the reverberations of their ideas in the print media, if analyzed in a comparative way give us an overview of the beginnings of the suffragist movement in Brazil in the nineteenth century. Through Anna Rosa we can note a writing with the intention of breaking with the gender patterns that were imposed on the female sex. In this way, it can be seen that the female vote was inserted in the discussions of the nineteenth century context, and that women were already claiming rights.
