  • On this paper the author analyses the pejorative names given to the animals by Simonides. With these names he ridicules women on his well known «Jambo»: the pig, the fox, the dog, the dunkey, the weasel, the mare and the monkey he represents all those archetype viciousness or defects that can be apply, according to what Simonides thinks about women. Contrasting all these appellatives, only the honeybee represents the positive aspects of women.
