- Introduction: The evaluation of postural control has especial interest in medicine and sport's field; nevertheless there is one lack of reliable measures to evaluate static and dynamic postural control. Objectives: To evaluate the reliability of a stabilometric measurement of low extremity postural control by means of an optic sensors platform. Design: Repeated measures (2 separate days) to determine test reliability: Intraclass correlation coefficient. Participants: 20 subjects, 10 men and 10 women physically active (22,56±5,7 years old). Main Outcome measures: The subjects have done three one leg test with progressive difficulty: open eyes (OE), closed eyes (CE) and one leg hop (H); in two occasions separately between 24 and 48 hours. We have measured the maximum amplitude and the average amplitude of the lateral and anteroposterior deviation of the centre of pressure (COP) by means of an optometric platform. Results: The variable with more intraclass correlation coefficient was the best average amplitude of the three measures of each session. The OE and CE test had a correlation between good and excellent (0.613-0.764) in all the variables of the best average amplitude; in the other hand the one leg hop test had a poor correlation. Conclusions: We can suggest the use of OE and CE one leg test like reliable for the distinction between groups of population. Although our results with the one leg hop test weren't successfully the futures studies have to be in this line of research.
