Resumen de Integration of the northern Morocco into globalization through industry: What’s good and what’s bad

Omar Belkheiri

  • The paper discusses hypothesis that successful integration of a region into globalization is not only the result of political will. In the case of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (in the north of Morocco), it shows that the mode of region integration into globalization depends as much on the triggering factors (internal or external), as on the history of the region and the systems in place (socio- economic and political). In each context, factors are different but the interactions always show real transformations of the territory, the population and the economic activities which invite to appreciate the degree of success of this internalisation or integration into globalization.
