The ultra- fungibility and the functions performed by money have explained in the past special solutions regarding the performance and nonperformance of monetary obligations. the economic crisis emerging from the covid- 19 pandemic offers an opportunity to analyze some of these solutions, as construed by legal doctrine, and to challenge them against the backdrop of the general civil law regime, in order to assess the sufficiency of its foundations.
