  Se trata de ver como la novela clásica de Mme de La Fayette, La Princesade Cleves se inspira en el Tratado de las pasiones de Descartes. La celebridad delfilósofo llegó hasta los salones parisinos del siglo XVII donde el tema de la pasiónestaba muy concurrido. La novela de la escritora pinta así la vida de la corte francesay, en especial, las relaciones pasionales. Su personaje principal, la Srta. De Chartres,luego Princesa de Cleves inspira y siente amor. La pintura del amor está fundada enla naturaleza de las pasiones tal como la describe Descartes. Los consejos cartesianosestán seguidos a la letra por la heroína. Esta novela fue muy polémica en su época yse condenó moralmente a la Princesa. Nuestro artículo rehabilita su conducta a la luzde la ética del filósofo. Todo esto nos permite concluir que Mme de La Fayette creócomo personaje una heroína cartesiana.

  Let’s consider how the classic novel of Mme de La Fayette, The Princess of Cleves is inspired by the Treatise of the Passions of Descartes.
