Resumen de Evolución de los cuidados enfermeros en salud mental y su relación frente al estigma

  Justificación: La evolución de la atención a personas con patología mental de base ha sido desigual a lo largo de los años y la falta de comprensión de la patología mental como tal ha ocasionado la aparición de actitudes estigmatizadoras.

  Objetivo principal: Promover la reflexión sobre la presencia de estigmas en la atención enfermera que reciben los pacientes con problemas de salud mental en las distintas especialidades y fomentar la creación de nuevas líneas de investigación en salud mental.

  Metodología: Análisis reflexivo de la evolución de los cuidados a los enfermos mentales.

  Conclusiones principales: Aún están presentes los estigmas en salud mental por parte del personal sanitario, destacando al personal enfermero, y estos estigmas influyen en las curas que brindan a estos pacientes y en el proceso de recuperación de la enfermedad de la persona que padece estos trastornos.

  Justification: The evolution of care for people with mental illness has been very variable over the years and the not understanding of mental illness as it is, has led the apparition of certain stigmatizing attitudes.

  Objective: Promote the reflexion on the presence of stigma on the care that they receive fromnurses and to open new lines of research about the impact that it has for the patient and nurses.

  Methods: Analysis of the evolution of nursing cares over the years.

  Conclusions: The stigmas still being present in mental health by the health workers, highlighting at this point the nursing staff and that these stigmas influence in the attention offered to these patients and in the recovery of the disease of the person suffering fromthese mental disorders.
