Resumen de Arquivo paradigmático: uma reflexão sobre as propriedades universais das Instituições Arquivísticas a partir do Arquivo Geral das Índias

  This paper aims to present the universals properties of the Archives, thought of as an archival institution, based on a priori philosophical reflection, to establish fundaments to determinate the graduation of these properties – and their maximum level, at the Paradigmatic Archive – and to confirm these properties through the forms observed in the General Archive of the Indies, that displays them to some degree. With that, the aim is to build a model for the Archives, determining how they should be. The interdisciplinary approach, between ontology and archivology, was adopted, integrating the method of philosophical reflection with documentary research procedures, based on pieces of fonds from the General Archive of the Indies, collection of images of the author and sources. The discussion addresses aspects of practices, forms and functions, which indicate the essence of the Archives and their path towards their paradigmatic ideality. The General Archive of the Indies is presented as a particular example that exemplifies these essential properties. Our conclusion is that there are certain essential universal properties of Archives, or archival institutions, which are: accessibility, durability and practicality. In addition, the proposed model is applicable for the institutionalization of Archives and also for the construction, reforms, implantations, the creation of new spaces, adaptations, restructuring in buildings and institutional uses of the Archive.

  Este artigo objetiva apresentar as propriedades universais dos Arquivos, pensados como instituição arquivística, a partir de uma reflexão filosófica a priori, estabelecer fundamentos para determinar a gradação dessas propriedades – e seu nível máximo no Arquivo Paradigmático – e confirmar essas propriedades a partir das formas observadas no Arquivo Geral das Índias, que as exibe em certo grau. Com isso, almeja-se construir um modelo para os Arquivos, determinando como eles devem ser. A abordagem interdisciplinar, entre ontologia e arquivologia, foi adotada, integrando o método de reflexão filosófica aos procedimentos de pesquisa documental, com base em peças de fundos do Arquivo Geral das Índias, coleção pessoal de imagens fotográficas do autor e fontes. A discussão aborda aspectos de práticas, formas e funções, que indicam a essência dos Arquivos e seu caminho para a sua idealidade paradigmática. O Arquivo Geral das Índias é apresentado como um particular que exemplifica essas propriedades essenciais. Nossa conclusão é que há certas propriedades universais essenciais dos Arquivos, ou instituições arquivísticas, que são: a acessibilidade, a durabilidade e a praticabilidade. Somado a isso, o modelo proposto é aplicável para a institucionalização de Arquivos e também para a construção, as reformas, as implantações, a criação de novos espaços, as adaptações, as reestruturações em edifícios e usos institucionais dos espaços do Arquivo.
