    Para la gestión de los asuntos diocesanos, el obispo ha contado desde antiguo con clérigos que le han auxiliado en dicha tarea. A pesar de no ser absolutamente idéntica la organización de las distintas diócesis, si podemos encontrar muchos elementos comunes a todas ellas. Este artículo pretende hacer un breve recorrido por la historia de las diócesis españolas para comprobar cuál era su organización interna, desde la Baja Edad Media hasta 1851 en que se impuso una normativa común única para todos los obispados sujetos al gobierno español

    For the management of diocesan affairs, the bishop has since old counted clerics who have assisted him in this task. Despite not being absolutely identical the organization of the different dioceses, if we can find many elements common to all of them.
