    In this study the aim is to unravel different spatial compositions explored by surreal artists in poetry, pictopoems, manifestos and some paintings. The research will consider the representation of everyday life in surrealist works of art and also the depiction of daily routines involving their objects and spaces, as well as the way in which these representations subvert the common or traditional understanding of relationships between spaces and objects. The analysis will focus on some procedures of surreal transformation of spaces and several modes of representation of objects that are transfigured by the power of creative imagination. The new meanings that emerge from the analogies, combinations and superpositions that can be found in the artistic production of A. O’Neill, Cesariny, Cruzeiro Seixas and other artists will be scrutinized. It can be concluded that the importance attributed to space by surrealists, either by distension or restriction, influences the expansion or contraction of time, creating a new geography produced by their imagination.

    Este estudo tem como objetivo destrinçar diferentes figurações espaciais exploradas por artistas surrealistas na poesia, em pictopoemas, nos manifestos e em alguns quadros.

    Observa-se como a vida do dia-a-dia mais a rotina quotidiana, com os seus objetos e os seus espaços próprios, são representados no Surrealismo, e ainda o modo como essas representações subvertem o entendimento comum ou tradicional das relações entre espaços e objetos. Analisam-se certos procedimentos de transformação surreal dos espaços e o modo de transfigurar os objetos pelo poder da imaginação criativa e inferem-se os novos sentidos que emergem das analogias, conjugações e sobreposições observáveis nas produções artísticas de A. O’Neill, Cesariny, Cruzeiro Seixas e outros artistas. Depreende-se que a valorização do espaço, por distensão ou por restrição interiorista, atinge a própria expressão do tempo que se expande ou encolhe, criando uma nova geografia gerada pela capacidade de criar e inventar.
