Resumen de Um convento no Rio de Janeiro colonial

This article seeks to demonstrate the process that led to the formation of a Convent Conceptionist the captaincy of Rio de Janeiro. The initial purpose of this work, in my view, it is pertinent for us to understand the questioning of local politics across the unwillingness to establish a convent for women teachers. From this stage will be held a brief historiographical debate and then the various orders shipped Town Hall the Portuguese monarchy in order to obtain such authorization. Belatedly, the resolution was in 1705, going to the foundation of this institution in 1750. Sources handled in this work are listed in the Archives of the Metropolitan Curia in Rio de Janeiro and in the center of digital memory (Overseas Historical Archive) files, available on site project rescue

O presente artigo busca demonstrar o processo que levou à formação de um Convento Concepcionista na capitania do Rio de Janeiro. A proposta inicial deste trabalho, a meu ver, torna-se pertinente para que possamos compreender o questionamento da política local frente à resistência em estabelecer um convento professo para mulheres. A partir desta etapa será realizado um breve debate historiográfico e em seguida os diversos pedidos remetidos da câmara municipal à monarquia portuguesa, a fim de obter tal autorização.
Tardiamente, a resolução se deu em 1705, ocorrendo a fundação da dita instituição em 1750.
