¿Por qué estudiar matemáticas?

    El artículo tiene como objetivo identificar la utilidad y características de la matemática para responder a la pregunta: ¿vale la pena estudiar esta ciencia exacta? Esto se realizará a través de un enfoque cualitativo. Los resultados obtenidos permiten constatar la relación de la matemática con otras ciencias y modos de conocimiento, con lo que se valida la conveniencia del diálogo existente entre las humanidades y las ciencias, incluida la matemática.

    The objective of this paper is to identify the usefulness and characteristics of mathematics in order to answer the question: is it worth to study this exact science? This is done from a qualitative viewpoint. The obtained results allow us to validate the relation of mathematics to other sciences and forms of knowledge, thus confirming the convenience of the existing dialog between the humanities and the sciences, including mathematics.
