The object of this paper is to present a palaeomagnetic study of two Roman pottery kilns. Samples have been obtained from the walls and treated magnetically to obtain paleomagnetic mean directions. After a geographical correction, these directions are compared to the secular variation curve established for Paris, in order to date the age of their last heating. The precision of archaeomagnetical dating is also discussed when geographical corrections are made.
