Resumen de La influencia de la heráldica de la Casa Real castellano-leonesa en la heráldica inglesa medieval

En este trabajo, vamos a pasar revista a la influencia de la heráldica real castellano leonesa en Inglaterra, en dos épocas, la primera tras el matrimonio de Leonor de Castilla, hija del rey Fernando III el Santo, que va a llegar hasta finales del siglo XIV, especialmente a través del uso de sellos polilobulados por sus descendientes femeninas; y la segunda tras el matrimonio de las hijas del rey Pedro I con los hijos de Eduardo III, que tendrá una vertiente claramente política por la reivindicación del trono castellano por parte del duque de Láncaster, y por otra el uso por la Casa de York de las armas castellanas y leonesas como principal diferencia en los escudos de sus miembros, llegando incluso al inicio del reinado de Eduardo IV en un uso que reivindicaba la herencia regia hispana por el monarca inglés.

In this paper, we are going to review the influence of the Castilian Leonese Royal Heraldry on England, within two periods; the first one, which begins after the marriage of Eleanor of Castile, daughter of king Ferdinand III the Saint, and ends at the end of the 14th century, the influence is exerted especially through the use of polylobulated seals by their female descendants; and the second one begins after the marriage of the daughters of king Pedro I with the sons of Edward III, which, on one hand, will have a clearly political inclination due to the claim of the Castilian Throne by the Duke of Lancaster, and, on the other hand, it’ll be of certain importance the use made by the House of York of the Castilian and Leonese arms as the main difference on the shields used by its members and that’ll even reach the beginning of Edward IV reign, who use it to claim the English Monarch’s Spanish Royal heritage.
