    Marià Manent translated a number of poems by John Keats first in 1919, then again in1955/1985. The present article looks at some meaningful differences that can be observed between theversions, having always in mind that they belong to two different historical moments, as regards thehistory of the Catalan language and as regards the translator’s purposes and experience. Changes inthe literary language and in versification and translation decisions are analysed taking always into ac-count the historical framework and providing information about the context in which the books wereproduced and their reception, and also about the evolution of Manent’s literary preferences.

    Marià Manent va traduir uns mateixos poemes de John Keats en dues ocasions: l’any 1919i el 1955/1985. Aquest article repassa les significatives diferències que presenten tenint en compte quees tracta de dos moments molt diferenciats quant a història de la llengua catalana i quant a propòsits igrau de maduresa del traductor. S’hi estudia la llengua, la versificació i les solucions de traducció tenintsempre en consideració l’emmarcament històric, amb informacions sobre el context de producció delsllibres i la seva recepció, i sobre l’evolució dels interessos literaris de Manent.
