La situación en México antes de la pandemia ya reflejaba diversos problemas, pero con la llegada del Covid-19 el impacto se magnificó, pues luego de varios años de crecimiento precario, la violencia continuaba en ascenso, y el maltrato a muchas instituciones era recurrente. Por otra parte, el actual Presidente no ha reconocido que estaba obligado a coexistir con una pluralidad política y social legítima que debe no descalificar. Dicha situación se muestra ya tensa, y el desgaste con respecto a la opinión pública de las instituciones que hacen posible la democracia ya está presente cada vez con mayor énfasis, pero los efectos del coronavirus pueden agravar aún más el panorama.

Mexico’s situation before the pandemic reflected already several problems, but with the arrival of Covid-19 their impact got magnified, since, after several years of precarious growth, violence continued ascending, and bad treatment for many institutions was recurrent. On the other side, Mexico’s current President has not recognized his obligation to coexist with a legitimate political and social plurality, which he must not disqualify. Such situation shows already itself tense, and the wear of institutions that make possible democracy, in relation with public opinion, is already present and all the time more emphatic, when the effects of coronavirus can still aggravate such a panorama.
