Resumen de Una mirada al sistema de salud mental en Paraguay

El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar tres componentes del sistema de salud mental en Paraguay, específicamente la Política Nacional de Salud Mental, la Unidad Móvil de Salud Mental y los Hogares Sustitutos. Se observa que hubo avances en períodos específicos mediante iniciativas de desinstitucionalización que necesitan continuidad. Sin embargo, aún quedan muchas debilidades que subsanar dentro del sistema.

The objective of this paper is to analyze three components of the mental health system in Paraguay, specifically the National Mental Health Policy, the Mobile Mental Health Unit and the Foster Homes. It can be seen that progress was made at specific periods through deinstitutionalization initiatives that need to be continued. However, there are still many weaknesses to be addressed within the system.
