La característica del orden multipolar vigente es que va a dar lugar a una realidad internacional completamente distinta y que este mismo va a sufrir una permanente transformación por efecto de unas relaciones de poder cambiantes y de la cuarta revolución industrial. Si en la actualidad EE. UU. es la primera potencia mundial, dentro de dos o tres décadas lo será probablemente China. Durante ese periodo de tiempo el centro de gravedad global se habrá desplazado de Occidente a Asia, poniendo fin a cinco siglos de liderazgo occidental de la historia humana. La crisis del mundo eurocéntrico llevará también asociado el cuestionamiento del sistema de valores que lo inspiró y articuló. Las incertidumbres de una metamorfosis tan revolucionaria del orden mundial aconsejan prudencia en los asuntos estratégicos y un modelo de relaciones internacionales más basado en la coexistencia que en un frentismo de los defensores del orden anterior para oponerse a una transformación tan preocupante como imparable.

During that period of time the global center of gravity will have shifted from the West to Asia, ending five centuries of Western leadership of human history. The crisis of the Eurocentric world will also lead to the questioning of the value system that inspired and articulated it. The uncertainties of such a revolutionary metamorphosis of the global order suggest prudence in strategic matters and a model of international relations more based on coexistence than on a frontism of the defenders of the former order to oppose a transformation as worrying as unstoppable.
