En la conocida historia —que llevó a la radio por sorpresa a Orson Wells—, el escepticismo científico ante la posibilidad de vida en Marte se mantiene hasta que los cilindros que los transportan aterrizan en nuestro planeta y empiezan a provocar el caos.
La reacción humana es, sin embargo, rápida (al fin y al cabo, es una obra de ficción). No hay mucho que pueda hacerse hasta que, en un éxtasis final, son los virus y las bacterias terrícolas las que acaban con la invasión. En este documento se hace una reflexión sobre la existencia de los virus en nuestros días y cómo convivimos con ellos.

In the well-known story —which led Orson Wells to the radio by surprise—, scientific skepticism about the possibility of life on Mars remains until the cylinders that transport them land on our planet and begin to take advantage of the chaos. The human reaction is, however, rapid (it is, after all, a work of fiction). There is not much that can be done until, in a final ecstasy, it is the earth's viruses and bacteria that end the invasion. This document reflects on the existence of viruses today and how we live with them.
