    Este artículo expone los aspectos esenciales de las actividades matemáticas árabes en al-Ándalus y en el Magreb, entre mediados del siglo viii y finales del xv. Dichas actividades comprendieron tanto «prácticas eruditas» (geometría, ciencia del cálculo, algebra, teoría de los números), como sus aplicaciones (en astronomía, en problemas relacionados con las transacciones, en la ciencia de las herencias y en las prácticas de medición y delimitación). Al mismo tiempo, el artículo aborda también la cuestión de los intercambios que tuvieron lugar entre los entornos científicos de estas dos regiones: movilidad de los hombres de ciencias y circulación de los saberes producidos en una u otra región. El estudio termina con una rápida descripción del papel desempeñado por el Magreb en la difusión de una parte de la producción matemática andalusí hacia Oriente y África subsahariana.

    This article expounds the essential aspects of Arab mathematical activities in Al-Andalus and the Maghreb from the mid-eighth to late fifteenth centuries. These activities included both «erudite practices» (geometry, calculus, algebra, number theory) and their practical applications (in astronomy, problems related with transactions, the science of inheritance, and the practices of measurement and surveying). At the same time, the article deals with the topic of the knowledge sharing which took place between the scientific circles in these two regions: the movement by men of the sciences and the circulation of knowledge produced in each of the two regions. The study ends with a brief description of the role played by the Maghreb region in spreading a part of the Moorish mathematical work produced towards the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.
